Risca entertained Machen in a BEN FRANCIS CUP.

Risca brought in youngster Liam Thomas at inside half and Geraint Rowlands, Louis Tovey and Ryan Anderson were all brought back to the front row.

Risca took the lead within two minutes with a penalty by Owain Biddiscombe, Machen replied with a penalty again an exchange of penalties saw the score at 6 points each. With Machens defence holding out Risca could not penetrate over the white wash, another penalty by Biddy saw the half-time score 9 points to Risca 6 Points to Machen.

Five minutes into the second half Risca took another penalty and Risca brought on all the bench with devastating effect, Callum Anderson was unstoppable from five mts out. the conversion failed, but Greg Jones scored an excellent penalty and Jones got an individual try wide out but failed with the conversion.

Risca's pack steam-rolled over Machen's forwards for lock Jordon Hughes to get the touch-down and Jones converted from wide out.

The final try was worth waiting for with Rhys Meredith running from his own half a great pass put Dan Webb away on a 30 mt run after running through four or five would be tacklers, Webb put Louis Tovey in under the posts, converted by Jones.
