Risca 25 - Brecon 41

Andy Powell's Brecon side came to the Stores Field as the leading points scorers in the division and left extending that advantage with a 41pts.-25 win that really flattered them.
James Meredith started at full back with Wayne Whitehead coming in on the wing and Corey Hicks on permit from Newbridge at tight head prop.
Risca showed commitment throughout the afternoon but it was the same old story from previous games with points being conceded after getting back into contention on more than one occasion.  \Missed tackles again cost the home side points as well as dubious decisions from the referee which denied them of a try bonus point. Brecon scored 6 tries to 3 from Risca. With games against the top sides out of the way the next three fixtures are crucial and confidence can be restored to consolidate a top six position leading up to Christmas.
 
Rhys Norville and Joe Carlin again put in good performances but my Man of the Match this week was  Louis Tovey who again led from from the front with his all action display.
 
The Youth beat Cardiff Quins 21pts-15.
The performance of the weekend though was from the Athletic who beat Penallta 13pts.-10 a rare win over the seasons of reversals. Outside half Lewis Millard scored all the points.
