Match report by Mike Allen
Risca's poor start to the season continued when they lost their third consecutive league game.
They had chances in the last quarter to sneak a win but they were never consistent or well disciplined enough to turn over a more composed Brynmawr.
Brynmawr took the lead after just three minutes with a well taken penalty, but Risca's pack came back strong to drive over from five mts with Mike Hutchings getting the touch down, which was converted by Adam Tetley. But immediately Risca conceded a penalty.
Risca's forwards continued to impress with Kiaran Lewis getting through some very good work and forcing Brynmawr to concede a penalty which was converted by Adam Tetley, but Brynmawr struck back to gain a good converted try right at the half-time break.
H.T. Risca 10 points Brynmawr 13 points.
Risca kept in the game with a great run by Lewis to get over in the corner, which was converted by Tetley.
Poor discipline by Risca and with Risca's midfield always looking for contact instead of putting the ball through the hands of speed merchants Wilson and Simms who were starved out of the game.
Which led to Brynmawr finishing the game with two penalties and a try to leave Risca with a losing bonus point.
Risca's Man of the match KIARAN LEWIS.
