Reigning champions Penallta sent a firm message to their Division (1) East challengers with a crushing opening day win at Risca.

Penallta 's captain Lee Rowlands led his side from the front with a storming display, and their No9 Evans and No 10 Soroko always had time to get their back line into action.

Risca opened the scoring with a good penalty by Biddiscombe  after four minutes, but that slender lead was short lived when Penallta got the first try of seven which was converted by Soroko.

The domination continued with three  more tries before half-time with one more conversion.

Excellent performances by last years youth player 18 yearr old No.7 Deri Roberts and No.8 Todd James and a fantastic try by Ryan Wilson from 75 mts with his side stepping, swerving and electric speed getting him home.

Risca can look forward to a hard weeks work before travelling to Sengenydd next Saturday
