Match report by Mike Allen

With Rhys Meredith not available Liam Thomas was again the man to fill in at scrum half.

Ben Farley and Leighton Burrows returned to centre and wing, Owain Biddiscombe returned to wear the number 10 shirt.

It was a full thirty minutes before Risca got on the score board, it was Captain Tom Crandon who set up a very good run to break the Garn's defence to put open side flanker Kiaran Lewis in under the posts and Biddy took the extra's.

Within three minutes Garn broke back and some weak tackling by Risca's defence saw the Garn's No 10 in under the posts the conversion a formality.

Just on thirty-five minutes Risca's pack started to dominate the possession  Todd James and Gareth Smith put in some excellent running but some illegal play by the Garn's pack saw the ref produce a red card, Risca's Biddiscombe converted the awarded penalty.

It was all Risca now and just on thirty-nine minutes some good running by lock Jordan Hughes and Todd James produced a try for No 8 Gareth Smith, the kick failed.

Half-time score Risca 15 points Garndiffaith 7 points.

Risca continued to be in charge after the break and within three minutes Leighton Burrows put in a great run to put No 12 Ben Farley over the white wash, Biddy took the extra's.

Gareth Smith got his 2nd try after a good run by sub David Ford.

Smith was the provider for the next try and prop Mike Hutchings got the touch down, but the conversion failed..

An excellent run by Liam Thomas helped to set up Risca's last try by Matt James.

Risca now leading 39 points to 7 points thought the game was over they switched OFF, but the Garn switched ON and gave Risca a twenty minute roasting and scored three converted tries in the last twenty minutes to give Risca a big scare.

Risca's outstanding GARETH SMITH WAS A GREAT MAN OF THE MATCH.
