With no League fixtures and having been knocked out of the Plate a combined 1st.and Athletic XV.travelled to Aberdare for a friendly.It didn't turn out very well as they were beaten 31pts.-21.

At the Stores Field a good crowd turned out to watch the Youth take on Llandaff North in another friendly.Like most Cardiff sides the style they played was of keeping the ball in hand and at pace which the young Risca team could not counter and the game ended 52pts.-17 in favour of the visitors.

Despite this reversal positives can be taken out of the game as three good tries were scored and a number of players stood out,captain Harry Richards,full back Bradley Meredith,centre Geraint Whatley,no.8 Morgan O'Connell and 2nd.row Corey Beecham.

This is a very young side and the majority of them have only come together this season so with more time together and with Adam Price,Jason Williams and Dan Bartlett directing operations they will only get better.
