At half time the homeside led 10pts.- 3 from a penalty goal and a converted try. The try came after a Risca attack broke down in midfield and the Brecon centre picked up the loose ball and ran in from fifty metres. The remainder of the first half saw chances at both ends of the field. Just before the end of the half Risca attacked up the right hand touchline through Dowle and Pesci. With a score looking certain the Brecon full back knocked the ball deliberately out of Dowles hand as he was about to give the scoring pass. A yellow card was shown but a penalty try was not awarded.

 

The second half is one that Risca will want to put put behind them.From the discipline and structure that has been prominent for large parts of this season that all disappeared in a shambolic forty minutes. Dropped passes, missed tackles, wrong options and wayward kicks gave Brecon five further converted tries as they completed the double with a 45pts.- 15 victory. Risca's tries came from Dowle and captain Joe Carlin.

 

The one positive to take out of the afternoon was when Ben Murphy came on for Biddy. He looks to have a bright future ahead of him. The Rhys Patchell lookalike shows the same composure as he has and hopefully will fulfill his potential in the next few seasons.

 

Risca cannot play this badly again and hopefully will get back to winning ways with Blaenavon and Dowlais next up in the league and Pontypool Utd. in the Ben Francis semi-final Tuesday evening.
