After last weeks reversal Risca were looking to get back to winning ways against Croesyceiliog who were the visitors to the Stores Field .
Luc Bowie came in to the 2nd.row to partner Rhys Norville while Matthew McGovern was on the wing in place of the unavailable Ryan Dallimore. Todd james started at no.8.
After an early lead with a penalty goal from fullback James Dowle, Croesy took the lead when the no.10 made a telling break which resulted in the right wing touching down for a converted try. This followed a penalty goal. Risca came back when from a scrum on their own 10 metre line Biddy made a half break before handing on to Rhys James who made ground, the ball moved through several pairs of hands and when the move looked to have broken down Rhys Norville took the final pass to touch down for a converted try.
Half time arrived with Risca leading 13pts.-10.
The second half saw both sides looking to gain the upper hand and a war of attrition followed with the heavy field having a big influence on the game. Risca extended their lead late into the 2nd. half when after a mix up between the scrum halves the ball fell kindly to Biddy who went over for a converted try. A bonus point was achieved by Croesy when at the final few minutes they put over a penalty goal.
Full time 20pts.-13.
This was a game that Risca could have won more easily if they had shown more composure when they had ball in hand and also making the right decisions at the right time.
My Man of the Match today was Todd James who put in a lot of good work during the game.
Next week Risca travel to Brecon.
