The re-arranged league fixture was switched to Eugene Cross Park, Ebbw Vale due to Brynmawr's waterlogged pitch. Rhys Norville returned to partner Geraint Roberts in the 2nd.row, Jordan Rogers came in at tighthead on permit from Ebbw Vale, while Rhys James moved to the wing with Matt McGovern returning to the centre.

The game turned out to be a pulsating encounter from start to finish with neither side taking a backward step. Risca put pressure on for the first fifteen minutes and during this period built up a 10pt. lead with full back Dowle putting over a penalty then converting a try from Captain Rhys Meredith who forced his way over after a driving maul up to the Brynmawr line.  The lead was reduced when after the first meaningful play from Brynmawr took them into the Risca 22metre area and from the lineout the ball was moved in field. A scrum was brought down at the third time of asking and a penalty try was awarded. Prop Geraint Rowlands was given a yellow card and the visitors were down to fourteen men for the remainder of the half.  The scores were levelled up when centre Langdon put over a penalty goal.

Half Time 10pts.- 10.

The second half saw Brynmawr take the lead. Biddy put a diagonal kick in towards the corner which was fielded and marked by wing Congreave. He went on a run which took him up to the halfway line. At the breakdown Callum Coughlin was yellow carded and Brynmawr put the ball down into the red zone. From a scrum on the Risca line the visiting eight could not hold the pressure and no.8 Fillier touched down for Langdon to add the extras.
Risca then replied with another try which saw Joe Carlin finishing off after some strong approach work down the right hand touchline. Dowle put over the conversion. For the next twenty minutes both sides exerted pressure but defences held firm.

Then in the final quarter Dowle put over a penalty goal from the halfway line and it was looking possible that Risca could inflict a second defeat on Brynmawr. But it was not to be as in the final minutes from a driving lineout they got the winning score.

Full Time 20pts.- 22.

What a performance by the Risca team from the first whistle to the last. The wide field suited James Dowle and Matt McGovern who constantly tested the Brynmawr defence,  while Captain Rhys Meredith kept the home sides backrow guessing all evening. The rock solid defence saw Brynmawr resorting to their strength and ultimately that is how they won the game.
