Four penalties  by outside half Adam Tetley and tries by Cory Nicholls and Ryan Wilson saw Risca take their first victory of the season at Blackwood with a 22 point to 20 point final score.

Risca's pack opened strongly to dominate possession, Kieran Lewis making some excellent work off the Risca back row which saw Tetley take two good penalties to put Risca up by 6 Points to nil after fifteen minutes, but Blackwood struck back with two tries with some very poor tackling by Risca to put Blackwood in front 10 points to 9 points at the interval.

Risca burst into life with an excellent move by Adam Tetley to put Risca right by the corner flag with some great hands put Cory Nicholls in for a try wide out which was not converted.

Mike Hutchings, Owain Cooper and Ryan Anderson a good tight front row won some excellent ball and Marc Bale opened up Blackwoods defence to put wing Ryan Wilson away to run in from 45 mts for a very good try.

A try and conversion by Blackwood topped up with another penalty saw Risca losing by 20 points to 19 points, but Risca was not finished and with  two minutes  left on the clock Risca were awarded a penalty from 35 mts Tetley calmly put it over even after the ball fell off the tee.
