Risca 55 - Fleur de Llys 6

Match report - Mike Allen.

There were no changes to the side that scored a crucial victory at Glamorgan Wanderers last week.

The Fleur started with plenty of confidence and just on four minutes went into an early lead with a well taken penalty.
Risca took fourteen minutes to settle down when Risca's back row of Gareth Smith, Gareth Evans and Justin Jones broke free, the ball was worked to Ben Farley and with the Fleurs defence up flat he chipped through for Rhys James to get the touch down, Owain Biddiscombe converted from wide-out.

Slack defence by the Fleur let Gareth Smith through after a forty mt run, with Gareth Evans driving over from five mts, Fleur replied with another penalty to make the half-time score 17 points to 6 points for Risca.

Immediately after the break new comer Justin Jones got through the visitors pack to claim his first score for Risca, Biddy took the conversion.

Leighton Burrows got in on the act with two tries in six minutes both converted by Biddy.

Risca's forwards were in command now with three more tries in the last nine minutes with Todd James, Gareth Smith (his 2nd) and Captain Tom Crandon all getting over the whites wash.

The nine try victory took Risca up to 4th in the league.

Men of the match Risca's pack who gave their best performance of the season.
