Match report - Mike Allen

Glamorgan Wanderers 20 points  Risca  25 Points.

Risca's debut left-wing Tom Driver scored a last gasp try to enable his team to snatch a crucial victory after losing their last three games.

Risca brought in Ben Farley, Tom Driver (Debut) in the backs and Henry Palmer, Jordon Hughes and Justin Jones to the pack for their visit to the Wanders.

Risca got off to a great start with a penalty just in two minutes obtained from a scrum offence, with a good strike from thirty mts by Owain Biddiscombe.

Three minutes later a poor clearance by the Wanders saw Marc Bale pick up on his twenty-two mt line dodged and stepped his way through four or five would be tackles and then stepped on the gas to run the forty-five mts in under the posts, Biddy took the extra's.

Fifteen minutes later with Risca under pressure Wanderers made a hash of their passing in their mid-field and the ball went loose for Tom Driver to pick up the interception to run seventy mts again under the posts, Biddy converted.

The Wanders started to get a grip up front and just on seventeen minutes they got their first points with a penalty, but Risca replied with another penalty.

The last ten minutes of the first half belonged to the Wanderers with two push-over tries both converted. Half time Wanders 17 points Risca 20 points.

Halfway through the second half it was all Wanderers and they drew level with a penalty to make it 20 points each.

The Wanderers helped Risca out by obtaining two yellow cards, Risca turned the screw and played in the Wanders twenty-two mts, a five mt scrum and the ball was spun out to Driver for that winning score, the touch-line conversion failed.
