Steve Llewellyn Memorial Fixture

It was was third time lucky for Risca RFC to win the Steve Llewellyn memorial Cup.

This is the third year that the fixture has been played between Gwent Police and Risca RFC in memory of our friend and colleague Steve Llewellyn. The Police, for the first two years took the trophy home, but after some exciting rugby on a very heavy pitch, Risca ran outright winners with a hat trick by winger Erwin Tejam (all converted by Liam Thomas). The police responded with one unconverted try.

The fixture as always was played in good spirits and some exciting rugby played by both teams for the spectators "on the bank".

Pictured is Cheryl (Steve's wife) presenting the cup to Craig "KIpper" Thomas (player/coach) and Captain for the day.

Well done to everyone and a big thank you for the spectators contribution to the bucket collection that raised £105 that will be donated to the British Heart Foundation.
