“Sid”
was the Quiet man of Risca Rugby Club, but very influential in
his comment.
Cyril enjoyed Risca Rugby for
over forty years. He always had a smile for everyone and
whatever the result out on the park he always provided
positive criticism.
Cyril was a family man, 46
years married to Valerie, cherishing sons Steve and David with
wives Elaine and Lisa and grandchildren Josh, Elliott, Daniel,
Jo, Sam and Megan who were all his pride and joy.
A Trustee of the Club, Life
Member, ex Chairman and committeeman, Cyril was black and
amber through and through.
A Rogerstone lad, he attended Pontywaun, Grammar
School. He was a Royal Engineer and member of the British
Legion and an electrician at GKN and Alcan. After his family
gardening, holidays and of course Risca RFC were his loves.
Cyril was a quiet, gentle
person, who gave loyal and sincere friendship, he was good,
generous company giving sensible advice and humorous
conversation. It came as quite a shock that Cyril was suddenly
taken from our company but we must thank Val for letting us
share in his life.
I’m sure that Cyril will be
supporting Risca from above and on a Sunday morning his spirit
will be at the Club bar tasting a pint and mulling over
Saturdays’ performance.
God
Bless you Cyril
